Upcycle your old CDs or DVDs into cool aliens - kids will love painting the shiny surface and turning the perfect circle into a fun new creature. This is a great recycling activity - instead of throwing things away, use your creativity to turn trash into treasure.

Materials

Old CDs or DVDs
Colored paints
Paintbrushes
Paper (for eyes)
Marking pens

Dig out some old CDs


Method

Dig out some old CDs or DVDs and paint them in bright colors.

Paint the CDs


When the paint has dried off, glue on some eyes, draw on a crazy mouth and perhaps add some wild hair made of coloured wool.

Decorate the CD


Hang your colorful CD aliens around the house or garden for fun decorations. Or you could pretend you've visited a far off planet for the afternoon? Have fun.
