Shaving Foam Marble Effect Art

This is one of the activities my toddler has enjoyed most on our crafting adventures. The whole process is lots of messy fun and the end result is pretty cool too.

Time: 15 minutes
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy, Medium, Hard

Materials
Tray with sides
Shaving foam (just get the cheapest from the supermarket)
Paint
Paper
Chopstick or paintbrush
Paper
Length of cardboard (as long as the width of your paper, a piece of cereal packet works well)

Method
Spray shaving foam into a tray until you cover the
base.

Fill your tray with shaving foam

Add some large splodges of paint.

You might need to add more paint if it doesn't look enough

Using a chop stick or the end of a paintbrush, let your child swish it around, mixing the paint through the shaving foam.

Swirl the paint around

Lay a piece of paper on top and press down gently.

Lift out the paper and scrape off the excess foam with the cardboard.

Use a piece of cardboard to scrape the foam off

You will reveal a unique marble effect left by the paint on the paper.

Why not try using cardstock to make a greeting card.

A unique and usual card to send to a loved one

Once you've finished making prints, it's lots of fun for your child to stick their hands in the shaving foam and mix it all up for some messy play.
