If you fancy having some fun with the presentation of your breakfast at Easter, then why not make a roosting box, just as if chickens had laid your easter eggs?

Time: 30 minutes
Age: 5-10's
Level: Easy

Materials
Small cardboard box
Scissors
Sellotape
Masking tape
Hay
Mini chocolate eggs

Method

Cut the flaps off the cardboard box, then cut them lengthways down the middle.

Fold the strips of cardboard into six square boxes and use cellotape to hold them together. These are your roosting boxes.

Put the roosting boxes inside the cardboard box, which shall be the hen coop.

Wrap masking tape around the cardboard box to create a wooden shed/fencing type of look. You can do the inside of the box too if you want.

Fill the roosting boxes with hay.

Place your mini chocolate eggs on top. If (for some strange reason) you don't like chocolate, you could also hard boil some quail eggs for a quirky breakfast, or use egg shaped gemstones as a gift.
