5-4-3-2-1 BLAST OFF! Bring a little astronomical fun to the kitchen with this easy to make edible spaceship. Even young children will enjoy creating their own imaginary space inspired scene right on their very own lunch plate. Simply assemble their favorite ingredients and cut it into shape.

Time: 10 minutes
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy

Materials

Butter
2 slices of bread
Sharp knife
1 slice of cheese
1 Carrot
1 cucumber (optional decoration)

Method

Butter the bread and place the cheese (or ham or your favorite spread) in between the two slices.

Cut out a space ship shape using the sharp knife.

Cut out a window, so the astronauts can see out.

Create rocket boosters out the back with carrots sliced into the shape of two fire jets.

Add a slice of cucumber and a slice of carrot as galactic decorations, or maybe some star shaped cheese. Now you're ready to reach for the stars and maybe even land on the moon. Have fun.
