Materials

Felt (paper or foam would also work)
Scissors
Glue

Our materials.

Method
Find an image; I love to search google colouring pages as there is always a good selection of simple images to choose from. For example, the dinosaur image was google search "tyrannosaurus colouring page".

Cut your selected material into squares. The size of the squares can be adapted to the age of the artist and/or the detail of the image selected. We used just under 1 cm by 1 cm squares for the dinosaur and 1.5 cm by 1.5 cm squares for the butterfly.

Dino
The larger butterfly squares were easier for my toddler to handle.

Spread glue on a small section of the image and start placing squares.

We have some birthdays coming up so I simply cut out the completed images and mounted them on cardstock backgrounds to create unique birthday cards!

Dino card
T-rex is mounted on full piece of green cardstock folded in half. A one third piece of yellow paper was layered under light cardboard mountains.

Dino card
The butterfly is mounted on a full piece of light blue cardstock folded in half. I watermarked a piece of vellum with a filagree pattern and cut to cover the front piece of the card.
