Manilla folder, light weight cardboard or cardstock
Yellow paper

We reinforced some parts of the hat with masking tape before painting.

Paint the hat in the desired colour being sure to paint both sides. Set aside to dry.

Draw a badge shape on the yellow paper. You could use gold or silver foil for this as well. Outline letters or numbers for young children to colour in or for older children, have them decide what they would like on their badge.

FD

Colour in the letters and mount on the circle part of the hat.

Your fireman hat is now ready for action!

Simplify this craft even further by substituting craft foam for the manilla folder or cardstock. Prepare the badges ahead of time and cut the hat shapes and it would be a great Fireman Birthday Party craft!
