Play Kitchen Strawberries

A few minutes of sewing up scraps of material can lead to these fantastic strawberries for your child's play kitchen. Fill a recycled strawberry or tomato punnet full of these soft play fruits.



Strawberry punnet

Time: 5 minutes (each strawberry)
Age: Over 10's, Parent craft
Level: Easy

Materials
Scrap fabric and\or felt
Thread and sewing machine
Fiberfill or some other kind of stuffing material
Strawberry pattern (see step 1 in Method)
Strawberry or tomatoe punnet

Method
Print out the strawberry pattern from Martha Stewart.
Cut out strawberries from scrap material. I used a red broadcloth and red fleece that I had left over from other projects but why not experiment with patterned fabric too!



Strawberry punnet

Match the right sides of the fabric and sew up the straight edges.



Strawberry punnet

Turn your fabric right side out and stuff with fiberfill.



Strawberry punnet

Hand stitch the curved ends of the strawberry together.

Cut out the strawberry tops and hand stitch in place.

Fill the recycled punnet full with your fabric strawberries and place in your play kitchen!
