Homemade Digeridoo Montage

This is one of those great painting exercises that can be as simple or technical as you like!

Time: 5 minutes (preparation)
Activity 10-15 minutes
Ages 2-10
Level:Easy to Medium depending on skill. Some parental assistance required for little hands.

Materials
Paper towel roll, loo rolls stuck together or a postage roll. Alternatively if using loo rolls you could have them paint them individually and then tape them at the end when they are all dry.
Paint tray
Narrow paint brush
Earthy colour paints eg. brown, yellow, orange, red
Pattern making materials. Eg doily, stickers, stencils

Method
Protect your area first, this is going to get messy! I like to use a cookie tray for paints with a piece of baking paper over it. It means clean up is a case of just binning paper. Painting is thirsty work so cover your water otter too.

Put out your blobs of paint.

Paint your roll a base colour first or if you would like to leave it the card colour you can.
Tape over the pattern making material on to your cardboard roll.

The child then paints over the pattern making area with their brush.

While that is drying they can do dot painting with their fingers or stamp their hand print around it.

Leave to dry and voila!

Just so you know I also made my own epic attempt at painting a digeridoo
