Creepy Crawly Cookies are easy, fun and yummy treats that everyone can enjoy making - and eating!
: 30 minutes
: Any Age
1 3/4 plain flour
150g softened butter
1 tsp vanilla essence
1/2 caster sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
If children are helping make the mixture, draw the recipe for them. This helps them use their independence and practice their reading skills.
In a mixing bowl, use a wooden spoon to combine the butter, caster sugar, brown sugar and vanilla essence.
Add an egg, mix well.
Add the plain plour and mix well.
Add more plain flour if needed until you have a cookie mixture.
Roll into balls and place on a lined baking tray.
Flatten with your fingers.
Add choc chips to the top of each cookie.
Bake for 15-18minutes at 160C.
Once the cookies are cooling, melt some choc chips in a small bowl (I used the microwave for 30 seconds).
Use a tooth pick to dip into the melted chocolate, and draw spider legs on each choc chip on the cookie.
