Create a racing car tube track for toy cars and watch them whizz across a hard floor. This makes a great game for toddlers and preschoolers. All you need is a cardboard box, a variety of long cardboard tubes, some glue and decoration materials.

Decorate your tubes in a variety of ways. We used paint, stickers and patterned sticky back plastic.

Painting one of the tubes

Cut slots in your base box, the same widths as your cardboard tubes. Fold the flap of each slot down. You will stick your tube onto the flap. For shorter tubes, you might need to cut your slots quite deep into the box so that there won't be too big a drop for the toy cars when they roll out of the tube.

Slots cut for the tubes

Glue a cardboard tube onto each flap and/or tape on. The cardboard tube should slope down from the base box with the end not to far from the floor.

Now your racing car tube track is ready to play with. Launch small cars through the holes at the top of each tube and watch them whizz across a hard floor when they pop out of the tubes.
