Create a mini greenhouse from an old plastic drink bottle - it's a great way to get kids interested in recycling and gardening.

Time: 10 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
Clear plastic drink bottle
Knife or scissors
Soil
Seeds

Method
Remove the cap and label from the drink bottle and discard.
Get an adult to carefully cut the drink bottle in half.
Poke a few holes in the bottom of the bottle to allow drainage.
Fill the bottom of the drink bottle with soil and add a little water until the soil is damp.
Plant seeds following the instructions on the seed packet.
Place the top of the bottle over the bottom half.

Your mini greenhouse is now ready to place on a windowsill. Keep the seeds well watered and watch them grow. Plant out in a bigger pot or into a garden once they get too big for the mini greenhouse.
