Recycled Tiara

What do you do with all your old egg cartons? Here is a perfect recycling solution and you end up with a fantastic colored tiara for the little ones to play "dress ups" with (on themselves, or perhaps on their favorite toy).

Time: 20 minutes (plus extra for paint drying time)
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy

Materials

Colored paints
Recycled egg carton
Scissors
Paint brush
Colored ribbon

Method

Save your next egg carton and cut it in half down the middle with some scissors, so that you have two long lines.

Paint your recycled egg carton on the outer edges in your favorite colors - we used rainbow colors for ours.

When the paint is completely dry, make a small hole in each end with the scissors.

Cut the colored ribbon into lengths of about 20 - 30 cms and thread it through the two holes, so that it can be tied securely onto someone's head - by tying the ribbons under their chin.

Tie your recycled egg carton tiara onto your head, or onto the head of a favorite toy. Now you're all set for the races or maybe you might like to host a little tiara inspired fashion parade?
