Got a budding fashion designer? Or maybe you just need something cheap and fun to do indoors on a rainy day? Making outfits and accessories for dolls and toys out of aluminium foil is loads of fun, doesn't take any preparation time and makes no mess.

Materials
Aluminium foil
Doll or soft toy to dress
Ready for fashion design
• Simply wrap foil around the doll (e.g. around the feet to make shoes) and scrunch or twist into place

• Try folding a piece into double thickness to get a thicker and stronger 'fabric'
• Fold foil into long strips to make straps, headbands or bracelets. These can be fixed onto the doll just by twisting the ends together

• Pleat a long rectangle of foil into a concertina to make a skirt. Wrap around the doll and squeeze the foil at the waist. Wrap a foil belt around and twist the ends to secure.

• Try gluing on buttons or feathers for some jazzy outfits
