Baby Chick Greeting Card
This card can be used for all occasions and is a fun, easy craft for children of all ages.
This card can be used for birthdays, Easter or any other occasion.
Time: 10 Minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy
Materials
Three sheets of coloured paper (at least two different colours)
Scissors
Markers or crayons
Glue
Method
Fold two sheets of paper in half, ensuring each is a different colour.
We used yellow paper for the chicks body but any colour will work.
On one of the sheets, cut a 4 or 5 cm slit, perpendicular to the fold.
You can make the slit any size, depending on how large or small you want the beak to appear.
Now, fold back the slit to create two triangles.
Ensure you press firmly when creating the creases. This will ensure the beak is sturdy.
Using your fingers, pull out the triangles to create the chick's beak.
You may need to help your child with this step. It can be tricky for young children to handle alone.
Using a black marker, draw two eyes, the chick's body and two feet.
This is the best part for children of all ages to do independently.
Using the third sheet of paper (the one that is not folded), draw two wings for the chick and cut them out.
You can make the wings whatever size or shape interests your child.
Glue each of the wings onto the chick's body.
Ensure the wings are sized to fit the page appropriately.
Glue the second sheet of folded paper on the back of the chick card. This will add a splash of colour to the inside of the chick's beak.
Children will enjoy making this card, and it will delight those who receive it as a gift
