If you liked making bright bodies with paint on paper, why not try creating your own beach bodies next time you're at the seaside? It's a fun way to explore natural materials found on the beach and, best of all, doesn't cost anything.

Materials

Collection of beach debris on a sandy beach

Method

Explore the beach and gather a selection of beach debris such as stones, sticks, shells, seaweed and seed pods. Look for different colours and textures.

We sorted our collection into different categories

Find a smooth area of damp sand

Lie down in the sand and get someone to draw an outline around you

Stand up carefully to reveal your body outline

Ready to decorate

Now decorate your body outline with your collection of natural material. Try adding a face, hair and clothes

You can smooth out any footprint marks around your picture when you are finished and take a photo to bring your artwork home.
