This is the perfect way to recycle an empty cardboard box. Turn these boxes into a birdhouse and put your stationery in or any other items. It is not only inexpensive and easy to make, but will also add some nature-feel in the room.

Time: 15 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Empty box (biscuit, cereals)
  • Washi tape
  • Glue stick, tape
  • Hot glue gun
  • Scissors, pen, ruler
  • Straw
  • White paper
  • Empty tape roll, optional

  • Method
  • Mark the centre of the box and then draw a triangle.
  • Cut, front and back.

  • Cover with white paper using glue stick or tape.
  • Make a circle for the bird hole and carefully cut.
  • Cut two long rectangles and glue to make the shape of the roof.
  • Cut a small piece of straw and cover with washi tape. Use washi tape to decorate.
  • Use hot glue gun to secure straw and empty tape roll.
  • Fill with stationery. Make smaller birdhouses using smaller boxes and let the kids add their creative touch to the birdhouses by colouring or painting them.
