My son's school has an Easter Bonnet Parade next week, always a good reason to get some Easter crafting done!
We wanted to make a cool and creative hat using mostly recycled materials, and to our luck, found a kids cowboy hat for just $1.50 at a local charity shop.

Boy's Easter Bonnet
We made some rabbit ears and decorated with little chicks. Here is the how-to:
Time: 30 minutes (with 1hour drying time)
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy
Materials

Supplies
Hat - does not have to be a cowboy hat, a cap would be fine

Find a hat you would like to use
Cardboard (we used a cereal box)
Yellow Easter chicks (dollar store)
Method
To make your rabbit ears draw your desired ear shape onto the back of your cereal box cardboard.

Draw desired ear shape onto cardboard

Cut two ears
Paint either side of your ears, leave one side to dry in the sun, and turn over. We used gold paint (my son's choice) pink paint would work well.

Paint your ears
Rip little pieces of cotton wool and glue (we used a glue gun, you could also use PVA glue) around the rim of one side of your ears.

Cotton wool

Glue around the rim of your ears
Glue your ears to each side of your hat with your glue gun.

Glue your ears to each side of your hat
Decorate the rim of your hat with yellow chicks in desired spots, again using your glue gun to secure in place.

Chicks on the rim
