Canada Flag Handprint Card

Posted 2013-10-01 by Janinefollow
Celebrate Canada and create a fun and easy handprint Canadian flag. This is a great activity to do for Canada Day (July 1st) or use it as a jumping off point for learning about and creating flags from other countries.

Time: 15 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials

  • White cardstock
  • Plate or flat container to spread paint
  • Paint brush
  • Red paint
  • Painter's tape (or any low tack tape)

  • Method
  • Fold the white cardstock in half and tape to a table or flat work surface at 3 equal intervals using the painter's tape.

  • Mark the sections to be painted red and let the painting begin!

  • Allow the paint a bit of time to dry and remove the painter's tape. The tape will leave crisp lines and will not tear the paper.
  • Now the messy, fun part can start. Paint a hand red or squish it around on the plate of paint. Ensure there is good coverage.
  • Stamp the hand onto the middle of the card, between the two red rectangles.

  • Let dry and write a message in your personalized Canada flag card.

  • You could also create one-of-a-kind Canada shirts with this method using red fabric paint and a white tshirt.
