Method
Create your castle card template. I used this template as a guide but ended up making everything bigger to utilize an entire piece of card stock. This gave me more room for invitation information in the middle and was less cutting!
Cut out the castles from card stock. Fold the sides of the castle to create a gate fold card. I did score the fold lines first to make folding easier.
Cut out windows, doors and turrets or whatever your wish to decorate your castle with.
Assemble your castle and decorate with your choice of embellishments. It is best to ensure that there are no big decorations in the middle of the door as this will be cut in order to open the card.
My daughter deviated from the typical placement of windows and placed hers at the sides of the door as she said it looked like Mickey Mouse
Cut the castle door and attach your invitation or birthday wording inside. We made these as invitations for a princess and knight birthday party. Our invitation wording started with: In a land not so far away, a princess and knight are celebrating their birthday!
Seal your card with a star sticker or if you really want to get into the medieval spirit, use a wax seal!
