CD Aliens

Upcycle your old CDs or DVDs into cool aliens - kids will love painting the shiny surface and turning the perfect circle into a fun new creature. This is a great recycling activity - instead of throwing things away, use your creativity to turn trash into treasure.

Time: 60 minutes
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy

Materials

  • Old CDs or DVDs
  • Colored paints
  • Paintbrushes
  • Paper (for eyes)
  • Marking pens

    • Dig out some old CDs


    Method

  • Dig out some old CDs or DVDs and paint them in bright colors.

    • Paint the CDs


  • When the paint has dried off, glue on some eyes, draw on a crazy mouth and perhaps add some wild hair made of coloured wool.

    • Decorate the CD


  • Hang your colorful CD aliens around the house or garden for fun decorations. Or you could pretend you've visited a far off planet for the afternoon? Have fun.
