Cereal Bird Feeder

With Earth Day almost a month away (22nd April), let the kids be inspired by Dr Seuss' The Lorax to save our planet. This craft is very easy to make and will be a reminder of Dr Seuss' wise words from the book 'Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot ,nothing is going to get better. It's not.' This craft will undeniably have a positive influence on the kids to be environmentally friendly and take actions to preserve our beautiful Earth.


Time: 15 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Empty toilet rolls/Cardboard tubes
  • Yellow, green and orange paper
  • Pink tissue paper
  • Pink and yellow pipe cleaners
  • A pair of googly eyes
  • Lollipop sticks
  • Paper plates
  • Glue, scissors, tape, pencil



    • Method
  • Cover the toilet roll with the orange paper and tape. Push excess inside the roll.
  • Draw the eyebrows and mustache of the Lorax and cut.



  • Glue on the covered roll, together with the eyes.

  • Tape two lollipop sticks halfway. Cover with pipe cleaners by twisting around to make the Truffula tree.



  • Glue tissue paper around the top of the tree.

  • Tape the tree to the paper plate.

  • Tape the Lorax to the paper plate.

  • Cut green paper into thin strips. Place around the tree and the Lorax to represent the green grass.

    • Happy Earth Day.
