Create your own conker creature
My kids love collecting conkers which have fallen from horse chestnut trees in the UK Autumn. They are beautiful and glossy and lovely to hold. We decided to create some conker creatures with some of the conkers in our collection. We used coloured nail varnish to decorate them - the little brushes are perfect for small hands and the nail varnish dries quickly for instant results. However, it can get a little messy so it's worth putting down plenty of newspaper and having some nail varnish remover handy.

Glossy conkers ready to decorate
Time: 30 minutes
Age: Any age
Level: Easy
Materials
Conkers (horse chestnuts)
Selection of colourful nail varnish
Small spot stickers or googly eyes and glue.

The nail varnish and stickers mean there is not much waiting time for paint and glue to dry
Method
Have fun decorating your conker with nail varnish to give an interesting pattern.
Stick on spot stickers to make eyes. We chose stickers as we didn't need to wait for glue to dry. However you could also try googly eyes and glue.
Try making a whole family!
