Craft Notebooks
When your child has done some beautiful artwork, here is a great way to use their designs.
Time: Could take over an hour
Age: 5 & up
Level: Easy (activity is easy, although it is time consuming)
Materials
Children's art work
Paper (can be coloured, I have used plain white)
Glue
Scissors
Key rings
Shape templates on cardboard (you will need two of each template i.e 2 hearts, 2 stars etc)
Marker/pencil
Hole punch
Method
Using your child's artwork, draw and cut out desired shapes. (These will be the front and back covers of the books)
Using the templates draw and cut shapes on white paper. You will need roughly 20 of each shape.
When all the shapes have been cut out, you are ready to put your books together.
Using the artwork cut outs, glue them onto the cardboard templates, making the front and back covers.
Using a hole punch, punch holes into front and back covers as well as the in between white pages.
Once the holes have been punched in, use the key ring to slide all the pieces through, creating a book.
The notebooks are ready for kids to use. These are great for car trips as each child has their own book. Add a few colour pencils and the trip won't seem so long.
