Craft Punch Bookmarks
Craft punches with novelty shapes are fantastic fun for kids of all ages. The paper slides into a thin slot in the punch and then you press down on the top of the punch. When you release it, you reveal the shape cut out from the sheet of paper and a separate paper shape. It's safe for kids as there are no sharp edges on the punch itself and you can quickly make lots of fun things out of paper. We made a few different styles of bookmark.
Cutting shapes with craft punches
Time: 15 minutes
Age: Any age
Level: Easy
Materials
Craft punch
Coloured paper
Coloured card
Glue
Ribbon
Method
Cut out a rectangle bookmark shape from coloured card.
Using the craft punch, cut out a series of shapes along the bookmark. We used a flower shaped punch.
Tie a piece of ribbon at the bottom of the bookmark.
For our second bookmark, we tried punching crocodile shapes out of rainbow colours of paper and gluing the cut outs onto a rectangle of card.
We punched a flower hole at the bottom and tied on some red ribbon.
For the third bookmark, we punched a line of crocodiles out of a blue piece of paper. We cut a rectangle around them and glued this piece onto a yellow piece of card.
We then punched a flower hole at the bottom and tied ribbon on.
