CutOut Alien Scene

CutOut Alien Scene

Posted 2014-06-04 by Vanessa Mfollow
This craft activity adds a twist to a typical space scene, but you can use the idea to create all kinds of pictures.

Time: 25 minutes
Age: Under 5's, 5-10's, Over 10's, Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Different coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

  • Method
  • Fold the piece of paper you want to be on top into (rough) thirds.

  • Cut three semicircles close to one end. One of these should be a little wider and flatter than the others.

  • At the other end, and along the other fold, cut another semicircle.

  • The holes should look like this when you open the paper out again

  • Cut out a third of the black piece of paper and paste it onto the left third of the white piece that will be your base.

  • Cut out another third, this time from the green paper, and stick it in the middle. Make sure these pieces line up with the places where you cut your holes (so the middle holes will sit over the top of the green paper).

  • Glue your top sheet over everything.

  • Fill in the details of the spaceship, aliens, planets and stars.
