Dolls Bed
Children love to put their precious dolls and bears to sleep at night, and this cute little bed is the perfect place to do so. Made from an old cardboard box, masking tape and acrylic paint, it’s cheap, easy and fun for kids of all ages to make.

The size that you’ll need to make this bed depends on the toy that it’s to be used for. Apart from this, the steps that you’ll need to follow are exactly the same.
Time: About an hour or two, including the time it takes for the paint to dry
Age: 5-10's, Over 10's
Level: Medium
Materials
[Image2]
One cardboard box
One cardboard paper roll tube
Child-friendly scissors
Masking tape
Acrylic paint
Paint brush
Glitter glue
Optional – anything else that you’d like to decorate the bed with, such as craft gems, fancy paper and stickers.
Method
Cut the sides of the box down to the desired size. Some adult help will possibly be required with this – especially for very young children, and if you’re using a larger thicker box.

Take some of the cut-off pieces of cardboard and draw two bed ends onto them. Ensure that they’re the right size for the bed.
Cut out the bed heads, and using plenty of masking tape, firmly attach them to each end of the bed.

Take the cardboard paper towel roll and divide it into four equal parts. Measure and cut this carefully – the four pieces will be the legs of the bed.

Using the paper masking tape, attach these cardboard roll legs to the bottom of the bed.

Paint the bed in acrylic paint. If necessary, use a second coat so that it’s completely covered. Put the bed aside until the paint has completely dried.

When the paint is dry you can decorate your doll’s new bed. Colourful painted designs look great, as do stickers and glitter glue decorations. The bed is now ready for your favourite toys to sleep in.
