Easter Baskets
Anything recycled is a winner in my house and these have been a favorite around here lately. They make a super Easter season activity for older children (5 -10 year olds) as the glue part is a bit fiddly. You could fill your colorful Easter Basket with delicious home made goodies as a lovely present for friends and relatives. We found some excellent cheap balls of wool in the local Op Shop, but you could find them in any craft, discount or knitting store. I reckon the final effect is visually striking and not at all harsh on the budget. The size of the basket is quite small and ideal for little hands, so why not save those take away containers and get crafting?
Time: 15 minutes
Age: 5 -10's
Level: Easy
Materials required for this activity
Materials
Plastic take away container - round
Brightly colored wool
Craft glue
1 Pipe cleaner
Thread the pipe cleaner
Method
Make two holes in the plastic take away container, where the handle will soon be attached.
Thread the pipe cleaner through the holes to form the handle of your basket. Knot each end of the pipe cleaner, so it doesn't slip through.
Wind the wool around the container
Apply craft glue all over the outside of the plastic take away container.
Gently wind your colored wool around the outside from the bottom up, keeping it in neat rows close together. Snip the wool when you reach the top.
Allow the glue to completely dry before filling with your Easter Basket with delicious treats.
Cute little basket
