Here's how to make a quick and easy homemade Easter bonnet for an Easter hat parade. We made flowers from pipe cleaners to decorate ours. However, you could use feathers or any other decorations.
Time: 10 minutes
Age: Under 5's, 5-10's
Level: Easy
Materials
Pipe cleaners or other decoration items
Method
Cut a strip of corrugated cardboard with the corrugation running vertically up and down on the band.
Cover the front of the headband with coloured paper.
Punch a hole in each end of the headband with a hole punch.
To make pipe cleaner flowers, cut two pieces - one for the stem and one for the petals. Bend one piece into zigzags and loop round to make a circle. Twist the stem piece of pipe cleaner around the petals to secure.
Poke the pipe cleaner stem into one of the corrugation openings along the top of the headband. Repeat with as many pipecleaner flowers as you want. You could also use feathers easily.
Tie elastic through the holes at the edge of your headband to complete your Easter bonnet head band.
