Elephant Pencil Holder

Posted 2014-06-10 by Vanessa Mfollow
This craft produces a cute and useful item that will help your kids keep their pencils organised. An elephant isn't the only animal you can try either.

Time: 40 minutes
Age: Under 5's, 5-10's
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Toilet paper roll
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Paint and paintbrush
  • Cardboard (I had pieces of two different thicknesses)
  • Pencil

  • Method
  • Draw an elephant ear on a piece of cardboard.

  • Cut out the ear, as well as a long strip for a trunk.

  • Trace around the first ear and then cut it out to create another one.

  • Cut out a circle the same size as the toilet paper roll base.

  • I traced around the base of the toilet paper roll but this circle ends up a little big so youll have to trim it

  • Paint the two ears, the trunk and the toilet paper roll grey.

  • When all the paint is dry, attach the ears as seen below.

  • I bent a section so I had something to glue

  • Attach the trunk.

  • Tape the circle of cardboard to the base of the elephant.
