Fanciful Fish
These fancy fish are colourful and bright
These fish are easy to make and give your child the chance to paint, glue, stick and even glitter. If you decorate both sides you could hang them up as part of an underwater theme.
Time: 30 - 40 minutes
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy
Materials
Paper or thin card (a cereal box works well)
Paint
Glitter if demanded
Glue
Scrap paper
Tissue papier
Method
Paint the paper or card any colours your pre schooler wants. My toddler is going through an orange phase at the moment so he chose orange paint on cardboard and white paint on orange paper.
Its great fun slapping on the paint
If the paint is thick you could also shake over some glitter which will stick to it.
When the paint is dry, draw a fish shape and cut it out.
Fish shapes on both paintings, ready to cut
Cut strips, triangles or odd shapes from scrapes of paper and don't forget circles for the eyes
Just use old scraps of paper for the decoration
Let your child stick these all over the fish.
Its easy for young kids to do as it doesnt matter if some pieces are hanging off
Trim any excess scraps from the fish.
Cut strips of tissue paper and help your child to glue as a tail.
You could also punch a hole in the top and hang the fish, they look great with their feathery tails.
