This is a really easy activity if you can source the felt stars pre-cut. It practices fine motor skills, and lets children create something really colourful to hang proudly on their Christmas tree. It's more suitable for older children if they are cutting out the stars themselves, or you could do that part of the activity for younger children.
Time: 15 minutes
Age: 5 to 10s, Over 10s
Level: Easy
Materials
Red or green pipe cleaner
Small jingle bell (approx. 10-15 mm)
6 small wooden jewellery beads (approx. 5mm diameter)
6 Red or green felt stars with a small hole in the middle (decreasing in size from approx. 5cm to 2cm)
The quantities above create one hanging decoration: multiply the amounts to make more.

The materials for four Christmas Tree decorations
Method
Fold the pipe cleaner in half and then thread it through the jingle bell and twist the ends to secure it.
Thread the largest star onto the pipe cleaner and push it all the way down to the bell.
Take one of the wooden beads and thread it on, pushing it down to sit on top of the felt star.
Repeat with alternating felt stars and beads - using a smaller star each time.
Finish with a wooden bead.
