Spiders are a traditional halloween decoration but also interesting craft subjects all year round! We read "Aaaarrgghh, Spider!" by Lydia Monks and after studying the spider webs in the book, set to work creating our own spider creations.

Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy

Materials
Paper
Black paint
Small paint brush
Black pen

Method
For young children, it helps to see pictures of spider webs as they will replicate the patterns they see on paper. Provide a picture, paper, paint and a brush and creativity will do the rest!

spiders

When the spider webs are complete, put spiders on the web. Paint a finger or thumb with the black paint and stick it onto the web.

After the paint dries, put eight legs on your spider with the felt pen.
We completed our spider webs with some halloween stickers and used them in our Picture Frame Halloween Treat Bags.
