Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites
A delicious treat and fun to make
These are a simple and yummy treat. It can be a little messy making these with young kids but they do love to lick their chocolatey fingers at the end.
Time: 15 minutes plus 1 hour freezing time
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy
Materials
2 bananas (ripe but not brown spotted or they will be too soft to handle)
150g milk chocolate
Decorations (sprinkles, shimmer sugar, dedicated coconut)
Greaseproof / parchment paper
Method
Slice the bananas into chunks.
Make sure the slices are thick enough to handle easily
Break up the chocolate and melt in the microwave or in a bowl over boiling water.
Kids tend to prefer milk chocolate but you could also try white or dark chocolate
Dip the banana slices in the melted chocolate and lift out with a fork.
My son had alot of giggles when the banana fell off the fork back into the chocolate
Place the chocolate coated banana bites on a board covered with greaseproof paper.
Add your choice of sprinkle decorations (or just leave them plain if you prefer).
What decorations are your favourite
Pop them in the freezer for an hour. You can take them out sooner than this once the chocolate is firm if you want your bananas to be a little soft in the centre.
You could try lots of different decorations from small pieces of dried fruit to crushed nuts.
