Frozen Chocolate Banana Bites

A delicious treat and fun to make

These are a simple and yummy treat. It can be a little messy making these with young kids but they do love to lick their chocolatey fingers at the end.

Time: 15 minutes plus 1 hour freezing time
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
  • 2 bananas (ripe but not brown spotted or they will be too soft to handle)
  • 150g milk chocolate
  • Decorations (sprinkles, shimmer sugar, dedicated coconut)
  • Greaseproof / parchment paper

  • Method
  • Slice the bananas into chunks.

  • Make sure the slices are thick enough to handle easily

  • Break up the chocolate and melt in the microwave or in a bowl over boiling water.

  • Kids tend to prefer milk chocolate but you could also try white or dark chocolate

  • Dip the banana slices in the melted chocolate and lift out with a fork.

  • My son had alot of giggles when the banana fell off the fork back into the chocolate

  • Place the chocolate coated banana bites on a board covered with greaseproof paper.

  • Add your choice of sprinkle decorations (or just leave them plain if you prefer).

  • What decorations are your favourite

  • Pop them in the freezer for an hour. You can take them out sooner than this once the chocolate is firm if you want your bananas to be a little soft in the centre.

  • You could try lots of different decorations from small pieces of dried fruit to crushed nuts.
