Glitter Play Dough Recipe
Sparkly Play Dough
This sparkly play dough is cheap and fun to make as well as play with. It's a great rainy day activity as it can keep your kids entertained for ages.
Time: 20 minutes to make plus lots of playing time
Age: Under 5's, 5 to 10's
Note, ground salt would be best, but if you find you only have rock salt will work fine as long as you dissolve it fully in the water first
Cheap store cupboard materials
Ground salt is best but just dissolve rock salt in the water if, like me, that is what you have in your cupboard
Mix all the ingredients together
Time to get messy
Dont forget the glitter
Squish, roll and knead to mix the colour through
You should now have several balls of colourful, glittery play dough. Younger children will enjoy the sensory experience of squeezing the dough whilst older children can make models with it - try making these Play Dough Ice Creams
We made dough with red, yellow and blue food colouring and then had fun colour mixing by kneading combinations of finished dough together: blue and yellow dough kneaded together made green dough, red and blue kneaded together made purple dough. We rolled all three colours together gently to make a swirly multi coloured ball.

Wrap the play dough in cling film, zip lock bags or an airtight container and it should last if stored in the refrigerator for several months.
