Goop is a cheap and easy sensory activity. It's silky and sloppy and fun to run your fingers through. But it can get very messy! An easy way to contain the mess is to put the containers of goop into an empty bath tub and let the children explore the material from head to toe. They will have a brilliant time - and cleaning up and washing the kids off afterwards is easy.
Time: 30 minutes
Age: Under 5's
Level: Easy
Materials
1 cup cornstarch split between a few containers
Large plastic dish or tub
Spoons, plastic animals, tubs etc to play with in the goop

Low cost store cupboard ingredients
Method
Make up containers of goop by adding water to the cornflour in a ratio of roughly 1 part water to 2 parts cornflour
Add a few drops of food colouring to each container of goop - preferably different colours.

We chose to make pink and blue

Watch the swirls of colour
Put the tubs of goop and accessories (plastic animals, spoons, other plastic cups etc) into an empty bath tub

Just add children
Let the children explore the goop any way they want to by running their hands through it, dropping plastic animals into it, scooping it, dripping it etc.

It gets very messy
Have fun mixing colours together and making new colours

Explore colour mixing

And have fun exploring the slimey texture
When finished simply rinse everything and everyone down in the bath.
