Hot Chocolate Melting Spoons

This is a fun project for any chocolate lover. Packaged up with cellophane and ribbon, the hot chocolate melting spoons make a lovely gift for Mother's Day or Father's Day. Stir the finished chocolate coated spoon into a mug of hot milk to create a delicious hot chocolate drink.

Time: 10 minutes plus time to set
Age: Over 5s
Level: Easy

Materials
Chocolate
Mini cupcake cases
Small wooden cutlery spoons
Cellophane and ribbon to wrap if it is a gift

Method
Use several thicknesses of cupcake liner to ensure a sturdy mould or use a silicone mould. Lay the liner out on a plate which can be put into the fridge.
Break the chocolate into chunks and put into a microwaveable bowl.

Ready to melt


Microwave gently for 20 seconds at a time, stirring regularly. Stop when the chocolate has just all melted.
Pour the melted chocolate gently into the liner mould.

Leave for a few minutes then carefully place the small wooden spoon into the middle of the chocolate.

Leave for several more minutes then place the plate into the fridge to set.

When set, the hot chocolate melting spoon is now ready to enjoy. Stir into a mug of hot milk to create a delicious hot chocolate drink.

Wrap cellophane around the chocolate and tie around the handle of the spoon with some ribbon and tie a tag on to make a fun gift.
