Create a colourful money box from a coffee can and some patterned sticky plastic. The coffee tin is safe for kids to handle as there are no sharp edges. You can buy rolls of sticky plastic (book covering) in lots of different fun patterns - I found this bright jellybean design sticky plastic in
Bunnings.
Time: 10 minutes

Level: Easy
Materials
Coffee can with plastic lid

The coffee can works well as it has no sharp edges and a removable lid
Method
Cut a rectangle of colourful sticky plastic the same height as your coffee tin and wide enough to wrap around.
Peel the paper backing carefully off the back of the sticky plastic and stick around the coffee can.
Get an adult to carefully cut a slot in the plastic lid of the coffee can.
Pop the lid back on to the decorated can.
Your colourful money box is now ready to save some coins. With younger children, you could use the tin as a
button posting box.
