Starting materials
Method
Cut a rectangle of scrap cardboard about the size of the jellyfish head.
Cut 3 rectangles of cellophane the desired size of your final jellyfish and arrange these as 3 layers.
Glue the top of the first layer of cellophane onto the rectangle of cardboard with a glue stick. Repeat with the other layers, only gluing the section of cellophane which covers the cardboard rectangle.
Cellophane layers glued onto cardboard backing
Cut a rectangle out of the net material the same size as the cardboard rectangle and glue the net on top of the cellophane using the glue stick.
When dry, turn over and cut the cardboard rectangle into a semi-circle head shape leaving loose cellophane layers hanging down.
Back of jellyfish
Make cuts into the loose cellophane layers up to the cardboard head to make swishy tentacles.
Glue googly eyes onto the head with PVA glue.
Glue the cardboard head onto a blank card, leaving the tentacles loose to swish around.
Your jellyfish card is now ready to send. You could add an extra personal touch with a drawing inside.
