Level: Easy

Materials

  • A4 paper
  • cardboard tubes
  • paint
  • scissors
  • glue
  • black marker

  • Method

Paint the backs of the printout

  • Print out the leaves and paint the backs green.

  • ...paint cardboard tubes brown

  • Paint cardboard tubes (toilet rolls are great!) a nice browny trunk colour

  • ...add some tree markings with a black marker

  • Add tree markings with a black marker. Try short downward strokes and rows of 'u's or 'w's

  • ...cut out leaves...

  • Cut out the leaf shapes and fold in half lengthwise

  • ...make leafy cuts...

  • Make random triangular cuts to make the leaves like palm leaves as shown in the photo

  • ...leaf one...

  • Glue the ends of the leaves to the inside of the cardboard tube - it's easier to start with the smaller leaves

  • ...leaf two on the opposite side...

    ...leaf three...

  • Pinch the leaves to fold them down where you want them

  • ...leaf four...finished

...now you have your own jungle

    Well done! Your own jungle!
