This cowl looks impressive, is extremely cosy, and is very simple to make. An older child who has learned the basics of knitting could make this easily, or it could be a parent-craft knit for a younger child.
Time: 2 hours
Age: Over 10's
Level: Medium
Materials
100g ball of chunky yarn, any colour
Needle and thread for ribbon (optional)
Method
Using garter stitch (
knit every row), keep on knitting rows until you have about 18 inches of knitting.
Cast off, leaving a long tail of thread to use when making up the cowl.
Using a darning needle, sew up the cowl using whip stich. This is a very simple stitch.
Optional: Thread a ribbon through the knitting to add an extra pretty touch. It could be a contrasting colour, or a similar one to your yarn.
