Making your own sidewalk chalk paint at home from old stubs of chalk is cheap and easy. Have fun painting outside on a sunny day for a great measy play activity. My daughter enjoyed it so much she wants to do it again tomorrow.
Time: 5 mins to make. We then spent over an hour painting.

Level: Easy
Materials

A good way to use up small stubs of chalk
Method
Gather old stubs of sidewalk or classroom chalk
Put each colour into a ziplock bag and close the bag

We sorted a blue/green/yellow/white bag and a red/pink/purple/yellow/white bag
Crush and roll the chalk bag with the rolling pin until you have chalk powder
Put the chalk powder into a pot and add water until you get the paint thickness you want. We added about two parts water to one part chalk.
Repeat with other chalk colours until you have made as many colours of paint as you want

Chalk paint ready for play
Now have fun painting with your chalk paint outside.
You could try painting on the driveway, bricks, teracotta pots or even wooden fences. The chalk paint should wash off in the rain or with a hose.

The chalk paint dries with a pretty powdery finish

It will all wash off when it rains...hopefully!
