We created these little race cars to put inside the treat bags at my son's 4th birthday party and they were a hit with both children and parents. They are super easy to make and a lot of fun to eat!

Time: 15 minutes (for 10 cars)
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy (with parental supervision)

Materials
10 small mini chocolate bars (we used Mars bars)
1 small spoon
10 teddy bear cookies
Icing (use pre-made store-bought icing or even just a little melted chocolate)
40 M&M's (8 of each colour)

Method
Unwrap a chocolate bar and set down on the table.
Using the end of a small spoon, poke a slit into the top of the chocolate bar near one of the ends, stopping at about 4mm into the chocolate bar (the chocolate will crack, just try your best to minimize this).

Stick a teddy cookie into the slit and try to smooth the chocolate up against it so that it stays upright.

Use the icing to glue the M&M tires onto the sides of the chocolate bar.

Let set.

I used small cellophane bags to individually wrap up each one and then tied with a twist tie.

I found that keeping the tire colours uniform on each car looked the best. You could also present them lined up arranged by colour, this is very effective.

I made these with my grandchildren for a welcome home party for their new baby brother. They were a big hit!! Thanks for the cute idea.
I varied how I made my mars bars slightly. I also used the bite size mars bars but instead of m&ms I decided to go with gummy bears from haribo as the driver. And for the wheels I used smarties. I also figured out that if you use the bottom side of the Mars bar to put in the driver that it won't break as much. You can actually make a small hole, then fill it with icing und stick the gummi bear in it. Much smoother look to it in my opinion. I'm a little OCD. Greetings.!

We love these too - especially how they're all lined up. I'm drooling!
