Melting Snowman
This is a great way to recycle old Christmas Cards and make a beautiful gift box for free!

Materials
Rectangular Christmas Card
Pencil
Ruler
Sellotape or glue
Scissors
Method
Cut the card along the fold between front and back.
Place the ruler on diagonally opposite corners of the back and draw a line in the middle of the card. Repeat for the other corners and for the front, so that you have a cross marking the centre of both the front and back.
Fold the top and bottom edges of the back right up to the centre cross. Make good firm creases! Then unfold them and fold in the side edges right up to the centre.
Repeat for the front but this time don't fold right up to the centre cross - leave a couple of millimetres on either side, so that the front will be slightly bigger than the bottom when folded up.
Cut along the long creases on the side edges up to the point where they meet the top and bottom edge creases. This should create four tabs on each piece of card.
Using sellotape or glue, stick the two tabs together at the top and bottom of both front and back. Then fold the top of the remaining piece over the tabs, so that the box is the same height all the way round.
You now have a box (the bottom of the card) and a lid (the top of the card). You can stick some tissue paper into the bottom to cover up the writing if you wish.
This gift box can be made with any kind of rectangular greetings card, so you can make a box for a small birthday present or Valentine's Day gift, for example.
