This activity is lots of fun for all ages. It can get very messy so it's best done outside on a sunny day. It's all about having fun with paint and colour, although the end result looks pretty cool and you could cut a section out and frame it to make a fun picture.
Time: 15 minutes
Age: Under 5s, Age 5-10s
Level: Easy
Materials

Cheap materials
Method
Lay out a long roll of paper somewhere outside where you don't mind it getting messy. I buy rolls of craft paper from IKEA but you could also try wallpaper lining paper or the reverse side of left over wallpaper. Weigh down the corners with some stones or stick down with masking tape.

Paper runway ready to go
Open up the cardboard box and place in front of the paper runway. Choose your first paint colour and squirt some on the cardboard.
Help the child to step into the paint. Let them squish the paint between their toes and feel the texture. It gets quite slippery so ensure the child is well supported.

Kids will enjoy squishing paint between their toes
Now the child can walk, skip, run or dance down the paper runway, leaving paint footprints along the way

Squishing more colours

Try walking, jumping, skipping, running or dancing

The end result is pretty cool too
