Mummy Decorations

If you're keen to get into the "spirit" of Halloween, then this activity will be perfect for you. This is quite a macabre activity, which may disturb younger children, or they might get right into it - maybe be a bit sensitive to their reactions just in case. Anyway, it makes for a great scary corner decoration for your next Halloween theme party, and is a lot of fun to put together.

Suspended mummy

My kids really enjoyed arranging the cob webs and especially spooking dad when he got home from work with this suspended mummy in our living room.

Time: 20 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Doll
  • Several bandages
  • Cob webs (optional)

  • Our doll ready to wrap up

    Method

  • Take your doll (any size will work just fine) and begin to wrap its head with bandages.

  • Leave a space for the eyes

  • Leave room for the eyes to poke through for a really spooky effect and continue wrapping down the doll's body and limbs.

  • Continue wrapping the body

  • Once the body is completely covered in bandages, you could leave it there, or place it in a "coffin" (wierd - but it is Halloween after all), or you could string it up in the corner as a spooky decoration using fake cob webs.

  • One spooky mummy

  • Decorate the cob webs with fake spiders and you will be sure to scare a few visitors. Enjoy and Happy Halloween.
