Owl Family
There are so many things you can make out of toilet rolls (
sea creatures ,
decorations and even
furniture ) but these owls have to be some of the cutest creations. They're also one of the simplest.
Time: 40 minutes
Age: 5-10's
Level: Easy
Materials
Four toilet paper rolls
Paint and paintbrush
Paper (white and coloured)
Black marker/crayon/pencil
Scissors
Glue
Method
Cut about a third off two of your toilet paper rolls. These will make smaller, baby owls.
Paint all of the toilet paper rolls.
Press each toilet paper roll flat. Then press the back half of the top rim inwards and the front of the rim back.
Cut out oval-like shapes from your coloured paper for the owls' wings.
You will need two pieces for each roll, as these will be the wings
Cut out two small circles from the white paper for each owl's eyes (remember, they should be larger than normal eyes - mine were 2 and 2.5 centimetres in diameter). Draw a black circle in the middle of each eye for the pupils.
Cut out small rectangles for the beaks.
Glue everything onto the toilet paper rolls as demonstrated below.
