Paper Bird
An easy paper bird to hang above your window or on your Christmas tree.
Time: 25 minutes
Age: Under 5's, 5-10's
Level: Easy
Materials
Paper (two different pieces/colours)
Scissors
Pencil
Ribbon
Method
Draw the shape of a bird on a piece of paper. Any sort of bird shape will do, but I created mine by combining a large semi-circle with a much smaller circle overlapping it at one of the end points.
Cut out your bird shape and add the beak and eyes (remember to do both sides).
Create a slit in the bird's middle.
Cut out a second piece of paper. It should be up to twice as wide as your bird is tall.
Fold the paper like you would if you were making a paper fan. That means folding about two centimetres inwards, turning it over and folding it the same distance inwards again. Complete this process for the entire sheet.
Slide the folded paper through the slit to give the bird its wings.
Create holes at the top of the head and the tip of the tail.
String your ribbon through the holes.
