Paper Butterfly

With Easter break looming, keep the kids busy with this paper butterfly craft, for some decoration ideas and inspiration. This craft is easy to make and requires only a few materials, but does demand a little patience. The finished product is well worth it though.

Time: 30 minutes
Age: Any Age
Level: Easy

Materials
  • Assorted paper
  • Compass and ruler
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Glue, double-side tape or blue-tack
  • Skewers
  • Green floral foam and container or vase, to put butterfly

  • Method
  • Draw a 7cm and 9 cm diameter circle on paper (a big and a smaller circle) using compass.
  • Cut your circles.
  • Fold circle in half.
  • Start to accordion-fold one side and repeat with the other half.Do the same with other circle.

  • Fold both in the middle. Tie together with string.
  • Pull the creases and open your butterfly.
  • Repeat until you reached the amount desired.
  • Place blu-tack at top of skewer and press butterfly to hold. Alternatively, use glue or double-sided tape.
  • Place green foam in container or vase and skewer the butterflies.
  • Alternately, just stick butterflies to frames or any other decorations.
