This is a versatile paper craft you can customize to your party theme. You can use these steps to make hanging paper decorations, a paper cupcake stand or a paper centrepiece.

Time: 45 minutes
Age: Over 10's
Level: Hard

Materials
  • A4 sheets of coloured/ patterned paper.
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Double sided tape

  • Method
  • Take your A4 sheet and fold in half then cut. Take that half and fold in half again and cut into all the way along leaving about 1cm at the end.

  • Snip off one of the end cuts, open up and fold in opposite direction to the bend in the sheet. Along one side lay down double sided tape.

  • Remove double sided tape and glue the sides of the paper together to make a tube shape. At the end you will have the nib bit to connect the tube into a loop. Pass string through through, in and out at the same point.

  • To make a large one, follow the same instructions again using the A4 sheet as a whole (folding in half only once and start cutting in). You can make these in blue or pink for a baby shower, or choose a patterned craft paper/ colour to suit your party theme.

  • To make a cupcake stand or centrepiece, glue the smaller loop on top of the larger one, then glue a sheet of firm cardboard to the top.

  • Jungle animal centrepiece or cupcake stand.
