Flower Power


These jazzy straws would look great at a birthday party. You could design them to fit a theme or you could make one for Morher's Day. Put it in a glass of fresh orange juice alongside breakfast in bed and you'll be guaranteed of a happy mummy.

Time: 20 minutes
Age: Over 10's but younger ones can get involved if an adult cuts out the templates.
Level: Medium

Materials
  • Coloured paper
  • Scissors
  • Bendy drinking straws
  • Glue

  • Method
  • Cut a flower shape from a piece of coloured paper.



  • Cut out a circle from another colour of paper
  • Stick the circle to the centre of the flower



  • Pierce a hole in the centre, just large enough to pass the straw through.
  • Poke the straw through the hole and position on the bend of the straw.



  • You can try lots of different designs. What about an octopus for an underwater theme?
